Our third and last shoot of 2012 at American Institute of Marksmanship was another resounding success!  Although the forecast was for rain showers all weekend, nary a drop was felt!  Temps were perfect as well and the trees were just slightly tinged with autumn color.  We had 18 registered shooters show up, with 16 of them actually shooting.  Two of those 18 were selfless dads who could have shot but decided to work with the kids they had brought, as well as to to help the instructors with a variety of tasks.  Thank you Ross and Ernie!  On Sunday 15 shooters returned for more marksmanship and heritage!

Congrats to Kentucky's newest Rifleman, Tom, with a score of 236 with his semi-auto, and 216 (?) with his bolt gun! His son Carl shot well for his first Appleseed and with his dad as a role model and coach, I'm sure will shoot Rifleman in the not-so-distant future.

Ernie's son Andy was back for his second 'seed and shot into the 190's.  Knock, knock!  I think the third time will be the charm.  Ernie's daughter Lizzy and nephew Ben had a great time and also shot well for their first Appleseed experience.  Keep bringing those young'ens Ernie!

Dave, Colleene and son Solomon did well.  Despite rifle troubles, Colleene shot into the 160's and at one point did exceptionally well with a loaner Cricket!  Rock on!

Tim was attending his first 'seed and shot some really nice groups with his AR.  This was Jim's first shoot too, and he did well with his camo'd 10/22.  Another first-timer, Alan, came out on Saturday and had a good time.  Kerry brought his son Brendan, and father and son shot side-by-side all day Saturday.  It was Kerry's 2nd 'seed and Brendan's first.

Ross's wife Karen did very well but is also apparently waiting for her third Appleseed before she shoots a Rifleman score!  Their children Kara and Gabe did well too.

Other than a new Rifleman, the highlight of the weekend was packing up gear at the 25m range after Sunday lunch and moving to the 150/300y KD range, where everyone got a chance to ring some 8 MOA steel targets!  HUZZAH! -:)  Many times the saying was heard "Shoot like a girl, if you can!".   O0

After a few initial misses, and some dancing  ..:.., Colleene started drilling the 150 steel.  Andy was on his way towards hitting 10/10 at 150y with his .22, until his spotter said something that made him smile, which messed up his NPOA and caused him to miss his last two shots.   &)

This Shoot Boss is grateful that two seasoned IIT's signed up to help!  Thank you Andre and ChuckS!  I was especially grateful after I lost my voice and they could run the show!  Also thanks to Old Nelson our new Blue Hat who came to do check-in and RSO on Sunday.  Thanks to all shooters for spending your weekend with us!  Everyone is encouraged to post up about your experience and add your pictures as well.  See you all again soon!  Long live Liberty!

All I did was ask him if he was having too much fun.  I now know that a BIG GRIN   ;D  will mess with your NPOA.  ::)

As always, I enjoyed working with the fine folks (shooters and instructors) in the Bluegrass State - thanks for making me feel welcome.  Looking forward to seeing more earn their Rifleman patch 'cause there sure was a lot of talent on the firing line.  A little more practice and it's yours.

Also, don't forget the price that was paid by our ancestors...time to show our gratitude, eh?
