Early summer heat welcomed the June Amarillo Appleseeders.  They persevered through the heat, equipment problems, balky sights, slings, hot mats and new (and generally uncomfortable) shooting positions to show measurable improvement in their skills.

Here's the Sunday morning group photo:

The sitting position is generally a challenge for most first time Appleseeders.  Here's the line early Sunday.  There camera shows there are a few adjustments that need to be made in the positions, but that's all part of the Appleseed.

We had no Riflemen this time but first-time Appleseeder Kathy earned her youth Patriot patch.  She found out she is left-eye dominant while learning to shoot a shotgun and has decided to do all her shooting left handed.  That's a real challenge in itself, but she  persevered all weekend and did very well.

Hey Paul, thanks for the pics. Looks like y'all had a small, although dedicated, group of real Americans that got up off the couch. Bring to mind an old saying about a 'small, motivated, passionate group' being able to effect change against a lethargic majority. One Rifleman at a time is what I think when doing small shoots.

And man you're not kidding about the sitting position being tough for many.
