Hey Kentuckians: GET THE LEAD OUT! or "Why do I hear crickets?"

Imagine you are Line Boss, and after a string of fire and the line is cleared, you holler "SHOOTERS!  You may proceed downrange and check your targets!".  The shadows are long and getting longer by the second.  You see the shooters standing around talking.  You prompt again.  A couple slowly start to head down range, but the rest are fiddling with equipment or sitting around and shooting the breeze.  Your calls of "QUICKLY!  QUICKLY!" seemingly have no effect.  What would you conclude?

Well guess what Kentuckians?  The shadows are laying long across our Republic, and they are growing longer by the second.  There are fellow Kentuckians out there that would love to come to an Appleseed.  Trouble is, they just don't know about it.  We've got shoots scheduled and I'm hollering for help with promotions.  Right now I feel like I'm coordinating a bunch of crickets, because aside from a few exceptions, that's about all I'm hearing in response.  Where is our sense of urgency?

When I talk to individuals and groups, one of the things I tell them is that a Rifleman is someone who sees something that needs doing, and gets it done.  So I ask you; are we Riflemen and Riflewomen?  Are we any different from the majority of deadbeat Americans?

I know we are all busy.  I know times are tough financially.  I know we all have lives apart from Appleseed.  We can all come up with excuses, some are darn good ones too, but a Rifleman or Riflewoman doesn't make excuses.  Excuses don't get things done.  Folks, there is a lot of stuff that needs doin', and it ain't gettin' done.

So, let's start with a very short list of EASY things that need done.  It won't take any gas.  You won't need any trifolds.  It will take very little time.
1. Everyone pick something from the list.
2. Post here and tell what you've got covered.
3. When all the items on the list are spoken for, I'll put some more up.
4. If you've got some things that need done, by all means post it up so others can share in the opportunity.

OK, I put the Cave City shoot on the BG Daily news Amplifier events calendar...or at least I submitted it.  Used a little release I found poking around on here and the event info.

now that I look for it - seems one of you beat me to it!  OK, so maybe it'll show up twice.

Anybody send something to SOKY happenings yet, so I don't duplicate effort?

brdholman

I'll take the classifieds. It may take me a couple days to get it done.
