S_Two

We were blessed with GREAT Instructors at this Appleseed, who made the story of April 19th come alive for a rapt audience!

S_Two

LOTS of young students at this session, who exhibited great & teachable attitudes

S_Two

We were all proud of the two new Riflemen!

S_Two

Brickhouse & Spanner worked hard with Virginia_Shooter to demonstrate and explain the fine points of each position.

S_Two

The C2 Shooting Center in Virginia Beach was first-rate!  Here, Spanner continues the story of the Second Strike, under a wide canopy just behind the 25m range.  Fortunately, the rains that threatened all day did not materialize during the event.

We can's say 'thanks' enough to the volunteers of Appleseed, for the patience and one-on-one instruction!

Early morning, Day 1:  Excited students getting sighted in.  Here, its time to "check targets, and post new ones!".

S_Two

Concentrate, concentrate!  Respiratory pause, then steady pull on the trigger, straight back...

S_Two

The kids were ALWAYS the first to make it downrange to check targets!  Wish I had that energy... :)

Arianna & Alie:  New skills, new appreciation of history, and new friendship forged...Appleseed magic!

On Day 2, Brickhouse introduced a novel "team shooting" event, where pairs of shooters strategized to outscore other Appleseeders on the "Red Coat" targets.  My daughter and I teamed up for this challenge, and had lots of fun!

PatriotAndProudOfIt

Two weeks ago our second oldest son Corey and our daughter Kjia and I went to Bowling Green, MO for our first Appleseed. The Appleseed crew were ALL phenomenal.(too many great ones to name) There was a very large group of shooters. Coming in we knew little.
Oh my gosh. What we learned there thrilled me enough that I simply had to to tell our oldest son Zach and his wife Tiffany about it. Zach asked 'do they have those out here' as we talked on the phone together I looked it up on the site and saw that it just so happened that Patriots weekend was to be held in VA Beach the weekend I was to be out here. There were just a couple of spots left and Zach said 'lets do it'.
We spent this past weekend with an incredible trio of instructors. Brickhouse, Spanner and Tidewater_Shooter were just on it. They took us right where we were and did absolute wonders in instruction.  Tiff went from barely shooting a gun to 6 short of Rifleman...next time she will get it.  Zach got his Rifleman on his first Appleseed...not surprised at all and at high noon on Sunday I scored a 225  Wahooieeeee. What a great feeling. After that the pressure was off and I learned a lot about the AR15, shooting, prep, sighting.  Safety is stressed.  I tell everyone it is 1/3 each: history, safety and shooting/firearms.
I love the fact that history, actual history is heavily stressed at Appleseed events. The 'storytellers' each have a unique and emotional way of sharing the monumental struggles, victories and losses for not only the high profile Patriots but the everyday Hero that gave their utmost to the cause, America.  I am so proud to have had the opportunity to participate in the two Appleseed weekends.  I am looking forward to helping carry on this great vision by becoming involved with the Appleseed Project.
Kudos to all of you 'sharers of the dream'.

Great Job!!!

Betsy, I know Spanner will back me up when I say that they get easier after the first one. I really want to thank the two of you for stepping up and making the trip. You are both truly people who I am proud to work with and know.

Now, if the three of us can get Tidewater_Shooter to tell some strikes, we will have really accomplished something. I am sure that he did a great job with the "Dangerous Old Men."

Congratulations to the new Riflemen and all of the shooters this weekend.
