A beautiful weekend in the desert SouthWest. Cool enough in the mornings to need a light jacket that was quickly shed in favor of short sleeves by the 80 degree afternoons. Some wind but not bad, I'll never complain after WSMR last year! :)

We had 10 of the finest Americans on the line a Shoot Boss could ask for. From 9-10 years old to DOM's on the alarm list! :) We had school teachers, law enforcement, college professors, Pastors and city councilors, most all paired or trippled up with dads and daughters, dads and sons, it was great. At one point the pastor was very relaxed on the line and I made a deal with him, if he didn't sleep on my line, I wouldn't in Church! :) His son thought that was really funny. I think this was a first, shooters in their Sunday go to meeting clothes, on the line, had to get rid of the bow tie however.

Nate, Victoria, Jacob, Abby, and Gideon were our youngsters on the line and were an absolute pleasure to work with. All showed great improvement, seemed to enjoy the history, and no doubt future riflemen and women with a little practice and rifles that "fit". Victoria, forgive me, I'm trying to find who's camera your photos are on.

Dave, James, CW, Nathan, and Jason.... Dave proved his riflemans patch from a few months ago wasn't a fluke, shooting a 220 something with a lever gun. James, Nathan, and Jason all knocking on the door. CW knew very well what he is about, shooting a 217 and another 200+ before having to leave after lunch Sunday. Well earned and deserved Rifleman's patch and accepted an orange hat to be our newest IT0. His resume is long and will be a huge asset to Appleseed. Thank you CW for stepping up.

At the end of the day Sunday we were all tired, dirty, with huge smiles, satisfied and happy for the time we got to spend with great folks, sharing our heritage, and sending some lead down range in vollies of liberty.

I couldn't ask for a better crew, Strawberry Roan, Appleseed Widow, Duc-Dog, Jimi, JerryH, and ArchieL, thank you for making the SB job so easy!  O0 ....O.L.

Down the line....

I think there is a spare magazine in that bow tie!

How does this work?

A pair of Nate's and a James with an EBR....

Looking good!

CW with his 217.

CW taking the plunge, thanks CW!

I always enjoy spending a weekend in Roswell.  I especially enjoy the patriotic fervor and the dedication to liberty that is always in evidence.  Parents passing down the heritage of our nation and spending a couple of days at the range with the kids in tow; what better expression of liberty is there.....   Great group, students and instructors alike.  Can't wait for the next Appleseed.

Appleseed Widow

I could not have enjoyed the Roswell shoot more.  There is something so special about spending time with families that have a true connection between parent and child.  It was obvious this weekend we had parents that didn't just love their children, but really like them and enjoy their company.  What better way to pass a weekend together then learning to shoot better and learning about the beginning of our great nation.

I was thrilled that CW was able to achieve Rifleman before his early check out on Sunday....it was obvious watching him shoot Saturday that given the time Sunday a 210 was in his pocket.

A great time was had by all!

What Appleseed Widow said!  Seeing each of those families together gave much hope for the future!  James is knocking on that door, I have no doubt the next one will have him through it.  Working with each of the kids and seeing the determination and effort was just priceless.  They will be great Americans and I was sure glad to have a very small part in it.
