What a fanastic Appleseed! The proper words escape me.

The participants were top-shelf! They all braved brutal heat to forge themselves into better shooters, and into better Americans. Everyone I had the pleasure to be in the company of for the weekend had teachable attitudes and was clearly of the stock that can and will persevere. It's such a recharge of spirit to be with so many outstanding, dedicated Americans for an entire weekend!

I will post more later but wanted to get the thread started. Anyone who has photos, please feel free to post them here. Definitely give us your take on the weekend, what you liked, what you did not like, how you progressed, what you learned, etc.

We had a great time.  Well worth the drive down from Nashvegas!

Thank y'all for hosting the event and thanks to all the people that put in their own personal time and money to be there to help instruct boneheads like me!

I really appreciate all the help, instruction, and patience of the instructors and REALLY enjoyed hearing the history!

Yes I learn a lot.  I would recommend that you let people know that a Marlin 60 is just not what you need to bring and got to have a good sling.  Thanks to all that gave instructions.

Thanks for a great HOT weekend.

I really enjoyed the event on Saturday as that was the only day I could come due to prior commitments.  The instruction was very good and informed people in an easy to understand format.  I have been shooting for many years and this was really the first "formal" training that I have received.  Everyone was courteous and polite participates and instructors alike.  I learned technics that will help me in the field and forest and also learned facts that I had not heard before concerning our shared American heritage.  Another fact that impressed me was the fact of how literate our ancestors were during our founding years and that too be REALLY educated you need to make it a lifelong quest to keep reading and to learn the facts for yourself and not just listen to what is placed in the "mainstream media outlets".  GOOD JOB APPLESEED!

I had a great time.  I learned a lot and now I need to practice.  Maybe next time I'll get a Rifleman patch.

Congrats to my son Dan on getting his Rifleman Patch!

Bama & 4merUSMC1803 -- you guys had warm weather ?  Gee, over in Mississippi this weekend we had nice cool weather.  Musta been a freak of nature, huh?   ::)   ::)   ::)

Over in Como, MS we had a couple of return shooters who had attended Appleseeds in Birmingham, and who wanted to be remembered to you guys.  Sounds like you had a good shoot.  I wouldn't expect anything else from you two.   Congrats.

See ya.

I agree that everybody showed up with a very teachable attitude. This weekend went off without a hitch and I had a blast. You all can feel free to contact me on the forum by sending a PM to my screenname.

The instructors were great and the shooters were superb students. Weather was hotter than we would have liked, but hey, we signed up in JULY! in Alabama!

Thanks for making this a wonderful shoot.

It a freaking hot as hell, but I still had a blast. I managed to get a Rifleman Patch the second day, I am the Dan from Grim Sweeper's post. I finally scored it on the very last AQT of the event. I would like to thank all of the awesome Orange and Red Hats that were there.
I am PROUD to be an AMERICAN!!

Cool weather?  Did you send your twin or something?

What a great appleseed!! My back was killing me, but I was so inspired by the speakers, I want to become one myself. There is an instructors class in Canton Ms and a Rifleman Bootcamp at the end of August in Ramseur NC. I sense time is of the essence and the quality of instruction available is so great, I want to make the most of it.
I need to hear Rick repeat those six steps again!!!

Thank all of you!!

This was our first Appleseed event. Despite the heat and the humidity, my son and I had a blast! (no pun intended!) The Revolutionary War history talks alone were worth the price, and the instructors were great! We have already registered for the next Appleseed in our area.  If you have never attended, I strongly urge you to do so.

Had a fantastic time for my first Appleseed. A group of us IT guys (4) attended this one from the Nashville area. Really enjoyed the weekend and looking forward to the next one!
