What a weekend!   ^:)^

It rained for the first hour or so of the shoot and then came the heat.   :-[  It was ridiculously hot.  The water companies and Gatorade made a killing off of us.

The students were enthusiastic and ready to learn as they stepped onto the line.  And they soaked up the history - true patriots!

Ryan and Kyle, CONGRATULATIONS!  You both know what you are about.  Ryan received his patch first and I believe Kyle just wasn't having little brother showing him up.  &)  So he got one too.  :--- You guys did great.

Jason, THANK YOU for 7th stepping before you even knew what that was.  You brought 3 people with you that are now hooked.  O0
I hate that you had so many equipment issues, but you kept at it, persevering.  Believe me, "kyjam", I understand about equipment issues.  And I know you'll be back with a rifle that is running smooth so you can enjoy that AQT grind.

James, thank you for a great attitude and smiling the entire weekend.  I hope you'll come down to KY again soon to Appleseed with us and maybe bring the wife???

Vic, you are knocking at the door for Rifleman.  No doubt you will be dry-firing like crazy and 7th stepping.  You were a pleasure to work with this weeked.  Thank you for the historical facts about the area.  And I know it had to feel good to be on the line with your sons.

Larry, Larry, Larry.  Absolutely amazing!  We were worried Saturday how the weekend would turn out for you.  Who knew you could see 10 squares instead of 5?   :-\ You came back wth a scope Sunday and wow.  You kept moving right up the ladder wtih your scores.  Battling with heat, you came all the way to a 207!!  I can't wait to see you in August so we can put ya in the creek.  You were improving at one point by 30 points between AQTs!  I hope you realize the amazing improvement you made like we do.  Our hats are off to you.

Trainer8119, good to see you in that orange hat.  You were a pleasure to work with and hope to see you at another shoot soon.

Thanks again to John and his wife for hosting us.  Carrollton is such a beautiful location as you can see in the pics below.
For those of you coming to Cattollton in the future, we recommend General Butler State Park.  It's a great place to camp.  Beautiful, close, playgrounds, lake, etc, and a very family-oriented atmosphere.

Forgot a few pics.  One pic that shows how cool it is to sit on the hill under the shade tree, looking out to the firing line and the green expanse while ingesting some heritage.

Hey, had a great time! Thanks for all the people that put this on for us it was a blast. I cant believe you got the AAR up already, talk about prompt.

The entire staff was completely professional and very informative.  It was FIRE hot out and they were not missing a step not only in instruction but also in personal health and safety from the environmental conditions.

I look forward to attending some more Appleseed shoots in the future and will spread the word where I can.

Again thank you to the entire staff that came out and spent 2 HOT days in the sun teaching us how to shoot, all of ya were great!

huntsurvival

Hi all,
Thanks again for a great event and for taking the time to come train us :---. We had a great time even in the scorching heat. We're planning on attending again in October for sure, maybe before then if our schedules clear. I'll also be inviting others for sure. Lastly, we need to get Brad out here for a check on our farm so we can start hosting events for you.

Hot was an understatement. I work outside and am somewhat use to it, but man it was hot. We did keep everyone in the game though except for saturday afternoon for a little while. You guys did not miss a beat. Lots and lots of improvement and a very enthusiastic attitude from everyone. which was commented on  during our saturday evening meal. I cannot remember a group of people so ready for whatever was next.

Great pics kyjam! I didn't see you with a camera in your hand that much where did you get all the pics?

son of liberty it was great to get to meet and talk with you. Congrats on the Rifleman patch by the way. I am looking forward to having you on the line again and possibly behind the line in the future.

Huntsurvival, I believe you can jam a rifle more than kyjam can. I hope you do return and have good luck with the equipment because you were shooting very good despite the malfunctions. I am also hoping to make it for a little instruction from you as well. I will be in contact.

I was beat when I got home and fell asleep while doing some of the other SB paperwork last night. So thanks to kyjam for getting the AAR up so quick. O0

Huntsurvival,  Brad was talking to me about training with you as well.  We'll try to schedule soon and check out the site for Appleseed.  Thanks for offering another range for Ky!

Mudcat, I believe I had a sneaky helper with the camera.  ^-^

I had a blast. A big thanks to Brad, "KYJam", Mudcat and Trainer8119.

Soon into the first day I discovered I was woefully unprepared, no food, only a gallon of water, a rifle that not only was not sighted in for the .22 kit but apparently incapable of holding tight groups with the 1-7" twist. Extra thanks to Brad for letting me use his Marlin and Mudcat who later on let me use a tech sighted 10/22.

Mudcat

KI4URW, was our first Rifleman of the weekend. You were not unprepared with your AR and .22 conversion you can still learn the skills you just don't see the results as easily. It was apparent that you were learning. Great job doing it with the tech Sights as well. I am looking forward to seeing you again on the line too hopefully both on the line and behind the line.
You will find out that us Appleseeders will share our last box of .22 to make sure someone has a good time. We always bring extra of everything, unless like me you leave the bag with everything extra behind.  :wb:

You would be hard pressed to find a more laid back, ready for anything bunch of shooters. I think everyone had a really good time despite the thunder storm and oppressive heat. Hope to see you all on the line again sometime.
Congratulations to the new riflemen. Wear that patch with pride and tell everyone how hard that measly 25m shooting can be.
The other shooters are Riflemen waiting to happen, practice what you learned, teach someone else, and come back and see us again sometime.
Larry I wish we could have shot one more AQT, but all good things must end.
Mudcat always runs a smooth shoot and did an excellent job with the KD lesson.
Trainer good to see you again, hope to see you soon.
