Recently, I found a nice 10-22 to use as a loaner. It did not have a scope mount and while looking for one I came across EGW Tactical Scope Mount. What caught my eye was the fact that you could extend the forward ring beyond the action to get proper eye relief from a scope when using the "turkey neck".
While the EGW mount is solid and well built there are a few issues with this mount you should be aware of when you apply it.

1. The mount is supplied with screws that are too short. The 10-22 receiver is made of soft aluminum and is drilled and tapped with 6-48 screw holes. This used rifle had screw hole partially stripped due to over torquing. I've seen this before. The screws supplied with mount were 6-48 x 1/4" weaver ovals. They need to be longer to get properly threaded all the way into the action. I replaced the screws with 6-48 x 3/8"  Torx-Weaver Oval. This does make the screws too long and you will need to trim them back so not to interfere with the bolt and bare on the barrel. This is a trial and error thing but if done properly will allow the screws to make proper contact with the threads. I threaded the screws through a small bar and trimmed them off until they fit.
2. The mount is thicker than the standard mount suppled with the current 10-22,this puts the scope a little higher above the barrel. I put low Burris Z-Rings on and was able to sight in but I'm planning on putting on a cheek pad as soon as I can.

Overall, the mount seems to work OK. I was able to get a good scope picture but need to put on a cheek-pad to get a better cheek weld.

You may have the 20MOA mount which is thicker/higher.  They also make a standard 0 MOA
It looks like they make a 597 mount also....

I bought one of these a year and a half or so ago and absolutely love it. I'm using the Burris Signature Zee rings too and I'm perfectly happy.

I forgot to mention these bases cost around $40.00.I'm currently using a Leupold 2 x 7 vari-x 2 on it,,,mostly because I wasn't using it for anything else at this time.I'll check into rimfire scopes later.
Here's a little differant picture.
