What a fantastic event!  The fabulous MO weather brought 20 shooters to the line this weekend- a great turnout!  Many folks were first-timers to Appleseed, but we did have a few repeat customers.  One father brought his 3 boys back to another 'seed, and I think it bears mentioning that his youngest was only 7 years old!  He, along with the other kiddos on the line were all very safe- this MamaBear was proud even though they weren't my own "cubs"  ;)  It was so touching to watch their faces when ben1775 gave them their youth patches.  One commented that he would have his mom sew it onto his Appleseed T-shirt  O0

The good news:  We made 5 Riflemen this weekend!!!  :D
The GREAT news: All of them were first-time Appleseeders!!!   ^:)^  One of the Riflemen we made had commented that this was only his third time ever even holding a Rifle!!!  Holy smokes- you would have never guessed that!  Great job, Elijah!

We couldn't have asked for a better group of folks for the weekend.  We had two brothers who came, and both made Rifleman.  They also provided us with some comedic relief throughout the weekend  **)  (you know how brothers can be!)  They were lots of fun.

Even better news:  A husband and wife came (their first Appleseed experience) and liked the program so much that they have offered up two of their pieces of land for us to bring a shoot to!  They are just south of the Iowa border.  We told them we'd be thrilled to come and take a look at their land to make sure that we could use it for Appleseed.  Information was exchanged, and we hope to be bringing Appleseed to them very soon!  O0

A beautiful weekend with great folks to spend it with- I couldn't think of a better tribute to the Founders.  Thanks to all who attended.  I hope to see all of you back on the Appleseed trail!

Had a great time.  Couldn't believe how many riflemen we got out of that small group.  Seems like we would shoot an AQT and Ben1775 would hand out another patch.  Next AQT, same thing.  Way to go new shooters. O0

We also had another shooter (Jeff) who has land very close to this location and is interested in having an event on his property.  Will be following up with him soonest.  The two properties should compliment each other well and allow us to work around the planting and mowing seasons.
