Primers are coming back.  I've had no issues buying them the last 3 gunshows or so.  Powder never seemed to be in short supply (wonder why primers disappeared but powder didn't when it takes a whole lot of powder to burn up 1k primers in these bigger cartridges).

I'm not suggesting any of these vendors are any better than any other nor am I saying what they advertise is in stock or accurately represented, just looking up possible sources and sharing them.  Keep in mind as you come across this post that prices can change from the time I post this till you see it and check out the links.

30 caliber bullets (quick search turned these up, there's more vendors out there)

http://www.polygunbag.com/.308149GrainTipsLargerView.html  $115 per thousand  These are FMJ boat tails (use in .308 or 30.06)

http://www.polygunbag.com/150GrainFlatBasedHandpulledTipsLargerView.html  $140 per thousand  These are FMJ flat based (use in .308 or 30.06)

http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=7238&dir=278|281|727  $159 per thousand These are FMJ boat tails (use in .308 or 30.06) New bullets

http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=8980&dir=278|281|727  $340 per two thousand These are FMU flat based (use in .308 or 30.06) new bullets.

Brass

http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=10000004&dir=278|282|909|980  $65 per 500 once fired LC7.62X51

http://www.gibrass.com/brass.html  This one didn't seem to break down by component like the previous ones.

Good thing about brass is that you can reuse it a few times, how many depends on how you load it, how your prepare it and how your rifle treats it.

Many of these vendors sell the .223 bullets and  brass, too.  Buy boxer primed ammo and save the brass for reloading.  Brass seems less plentiful out there than bullets.

"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
