It was a nice day on Saturday but Sunday was cold, rainy and generally crumby.  Nonetheless, New Englanders again demonstrated their toughness by sticking to guns despite the weather.  We shot nearly to sundown.

We had 3 people shooting well beyond 210.  With one guy shooting a very impressive 240.  There were several more knocking on the door.  Apparently the folks in Chester know how to shoot.

Of the 19 registered shooters nearly half were women and we also had five new shooters on the line.  What a joy!  To watch one woman go from simply wanting to leave Saturday morning to shooting quarter sized groups by the end of the day Sunday was the highlight of my weekend.  She was knocking on the door with a 196.  No doubt, her next Appleseed will see her above 210.

Finally, it was a joy to see this shoot come off without any issues at a club hosting for the first time.

The club rep reported the following to the membership after the shoot was over:

"They set up the pistol range for 25 meters (after that one low berm) and a bunch of differently scaled targets which represented silhouettes at different ranges. I especially liked the "Red Coat" ones. :-)
They clearly and effectively explained all the things you need to shoot well. Especially the shooting positions and how to use a sling. First thing I did when I got home is to re-sling a few of my rifles now that I know better how a sling really works! For example did you know, with the right sling, you can completely detach the rear swivel and then using the loop on your upper arm and a few other little adjustments get a real nice hold in different shooting positions?... Although I didn't do any shooting I did learn a lot by participating. One nice touch is how they mix in some very interesting Revolutionary War stories at different points. Their story telling is top notch!"
