Welcome Wisk e Rebellion!  It's great to have you with us.

I think that the best DVD source would be the original WWII M1 Marksmanship Training Video.  It can be downoaded here:

http://www.archive.org/details/Rifle_Marksmanship_with_M1_Rifle_Part_1

or purchased on DVD here:

http://www.amazon.com/Rifle-Marksmanship-Training-Garand-Including/dp/B002A903HY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1249920704&sr=1-1

Much of what we teach is in here and the sling demonstration leaves nothing to be desired IMO.  While it's certainly no substitute for attending an Appleseed, it is a great way to prepare for one.

All the best,

Brother

I was at the CMP North store today. They also have the "Rifle Marksmanship with the M1" DVD for sale by mail order. Excellent video....Watch it while slinging up and practicing getting into the positions at home.
