Whitefish, MT Oct 31, 2026 Private Event

We couldn't ask for a more engaged, polite, and enthusiastic bunch of young men from the local Vanguard youth group this weekend. 20 young men and 1 dad stepped up to the firing line, and through the application of what they learned, saw their skills with a rifle advance at a rapid pace. Indeed, about half the young men had never handled a rifle before, but they took the lessons well and applied them to great effect.

Even more gratifying was the level of engagement with the history and heritage aspect of the Appleseed curriculum. We could see the light bulbs coming on in the minds of the youth and the adults alike as the importance and relevance of our shared history resonated with them.

By the end of the day, we had several shooters knocking hard on the door of a Rifleman's score, and hope to see everyone again at some future Appleseed event soon to get these fellows patched!

Thanks to the sponsors who arranged this event at a new venue for us, the Whitefish Rifle and Pistol Club was lovely, and to the boys for helping clean up the brass after the event and sweep the bays!
