We had a great 1-day Pistol Clinic at Liken's Shooting Academy.  It was a SOLD OUT event!  December in the Ohio Valley is a roll of the dice for weather.  We lucked in to a really nice early December day.  I want to thank Liken's Shooting Academy for letting us use the facility.  It worked out great for our first Pistol Clinic in Southern Indiana.

We had 10 participants come from a variety of distances.  Many crossed the river coming in from Louisville.  Others came down from the Indianapolis area.  Everyone came prepared to learn about our share American Heritage and improve pistol marksmanship skills.  Our first Hits Count target had one person clear it using a snubby revolver.  What a show-off Jeremy is.  Congrats on earning your George Rogers Clark quarter for clearing it.  The rest of the targets showed there was room for improvement.  We dove into the instruction and the shooters soaked it up like sunshine on a cool day.  We completed our skills practical exercises and posted a PQT to see how these new skills translated to a test.  Everyone turned in impressive scores for a first time.  Basil, a return attendee, was able to score a 216 with his iron sited Mk II 45/22.  After hearing the third strike for motivation, we posted a second PQT and Basil repeated his Pistoleer™ score with a 231.  so close to distinguished.  It was a fast paced day with lots of great learning opportunities.  The group asked questions during the marksmanship portions as well as history.  They were very engaged.  Our final Hits Count Target of the day showed significant improvement.  4 shooters hit the button.  It seems our stuff works.  HUZZAH!  We had a couple of shooters that were fairly new to pistols.  They did fantastic.  They were both safe and good shots.  I look forward to future events where we can see them all again.  For those that did not score as well as you hoped, dry-firing will help you improve those scores at the next event.

I want to thank TheGunslingingGamer, and JHB for helping me with the event.  It is always a blessing to have a strong team supporting me at events.  We added a couple of new volunteers at the end of the day as well.  Jeremy and Lisa decided that our cause was one they would like to help.  Jeremy is taking an orange hat, and Lisa a blue.  Welcome to the cadre.
