Saturday
Our resident Appleseeding family returned with the last 2 of their 7 kids. Louis brought his 11 and 13 yr old sons to partake in what seems to me not only be a requirement but a family right of passage. Welcome back Louis and family. Always a pleasure to see you.
1st time Appleseeder Kristin hit the shingle on the AM Redcoat. Men, also a 1st time Appleseeder put 3 rounds in the 400 yard  silhouette. Impressive start!
However the most impressive of all was the significant reduction in the size of the shot groups between Square 1 and square 2 of our first target. Im not exaggerating to say the groups went from 12" to 3". most shooters had a shot group less than 5 MOA!!!!  Even our 13 yr old,  shooter, Micheal, ( a first time shooter)was grouping shots sub 5MOA with a rifle he'd never used before!
Despite a very hot and somewhat humid day, with temps above 98, everyone persisted through the weather and really took it to the PM Redcoat advance. Michael, did I mention he was a 13 yr old fist time shooter, hit Morgan's shingle!!! Wow!!! Men, hit the shingle again as well!  Kristin also showed consistency and again put three rounds into the 400 silhouette.. Two other shooters nailed the 300, 1 shooter nailed the 200 ans 2 shooters took out the 100 yard silhouette..  marksmanship  was on display!

Day 2 started with the potential for a better weather day. The AM Redcoats   received another beating with one  shooter dispatching the 400, one taking the 300 and 3 shooters finishing the 100 with Men and Kristin again nailing down those loose shingles.
The overcast skies kept the temps bareable but a brief sprinkling of rain cooled the day down enough to keep up the AQT efforts moving at a good pace.
They say that Riflemen Persist. Shane was certaintly showing he had what it takes to be a Rifleman because he was persistently shooting Men's target and not his own
That bit of comic relief carried over to the last Redcoat target. The final Redcoat advance was punished, with 26 rounds in Men's target and 0 in Shane's.  But with only 4 shooters persisting through Day 2. Still, we had 2 shooters take the 300 range and 1 take the 200... I think, hard to tell with the double teaming of one target.
Although we didn't see any Rifleman scores, we had several that were close. A great time was had by all with a commitment to come back for another chance. Cant wait to see you earn that Rifleman patch, Shane, Kristin and Men. Louis, a repeat Rifleman himself was already eyeing up a return in October. Our AZ care stand ready to serve!

"It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."  "Nil desperandum, -- Never Despair. That is a motto for you and me. All are not dead; and where there is a spark of patriotic fire, we will rekindle it." - Sam Adams
