We had a nice end of summer weekend for this event.  We had some sun, we had some wind, we had some rain, but it was all in moderation and was manageable.

We had a great group of Patriots that came out to learn and practice their marksmanship skills.  Justin brought his three younger children, Anne brought a friend and Del brought a teachable attitude.  While we did not have any new rifleman, everyone showed great improvement in their marksmanship skills.  This was Del's first Appleseed event and by the end of Sunday, he was making dime sized groups.  Anne had already attended a few AS events in N. CA, so she knew what she was all about. 

A retired AS instructor, Ralph Hardin, was invited to join us at the event.  He dusted off his rifle and shot some AQTs on Sunday.   It was great catching up with Ralph, and I hope to see him at another AS event next year.

The shooters soaked up the history lessons, and thanked us for the presentations.  We did some extended history, as the shooters were starting to fade a bit on Sunday afternoon. 

With the improvement that the shooter made over the weekend, and some dry practice at home, I am sure they will come back to another event and go home with their Rifleman's patch. A laser pointer makes a great training aid.  By watching the dot and trying to keep it steady, you can perfect your Steady Hold Factors, your trigger control and also practice your NPOA shifts.  Laser pointers that mount to your rifle can be picked up on Amazon for a reasonable price.
