AAR Bonfield,IL 4.26-27.2025 Illinois State Rifle Range

This was a sold-out shoot!  Unfortunately, some participants had issues and couldn't make it.  We started Saturday with 16 shooters and had 2 only able to spend Saturday with us.  All the other shooters came back to spend Sunday.  Illinois State Rifle Range is an excellent range and a great host to Appleseed Events.

The weather was chilly in the mornings but warmed up nicely in the afternoon.  We had a couple of participants with rifle issues, but back-ups were brought out and we carried on!  Camaraderie between shooters and instructors was fantastic.  We just couldn't have asked for a better event.

Our shooters ranged in age from 13 to 69.  William Diamond patches were presented to our 2 youth shooters.  John, Eric, Alex, Keith, and Geek all requalified, and Daniel S. earned his first rifleman's patch.   John also shot a distinguished score on an AQT and got his distinguished patch.   Scores improved through the weekend, and several participants are knocking on the door of rifleman.  I'm looking forward to seeing them attend another event and shoot that qualifying score.  We had multiple redcoats cleared, and all were awarded a special gift by the shoot boss.  WarriorPoet got his 10-event pin.  Parker's Revenge was used, and the winning team walked away with fabulous prizes of unspeakable value.  WE shot the memorial volley for Patriots Day and learned more about General William Heath.
