What an amazing weekend! Sixteen shooters ranging in age from 11 to 73. The weather was wonderful, mid-70s and breezy. And that helped everyone to get a lot of hard work in. Seven, I think, AQTs (it was 8 actually)  is a lot of work. Two Riflemen were revealed, and several others were knocking on the door.

We have a great crew down here who work together seamlessly, and we had some great history told, including the new module on William Heath. Lots of applause from shooters who were privileged to listen to stories from Sieggie, BillO'Rites and JC/DC.

Cody gave a great presentation on known-distance shooting.

And to top it all off, we got both a new Blue Hat (MMcgivney) and an Orange Hat (BeardimusPrime) from the shoot.

It doesn't get better than this (unless everyone scored, of course).

Here are photos, thanks to Cody and Carolyn.

The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed -- where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.
