It was a sunny and hot day here in Central FL at the Sattler residence.  Rick and his gracious family opened up their private range to us once again for another Patriot's Day Event.  This one was rather special. Let me tell you all the reasons why.. The Sattlers' provided lunch both Saturday and Sunday!  BBQ sandwiches the Saturday (yum) and freshly grilled burgers and dogs on Sunday.  HOW can you beat that?  Oh, here's how; Eva, the granddaughter, VOLUNTEERED to tell the stories of Sybil Ludington and Elizabeth Zane!  AND she did an outstanding job as well.  The future indeed looks bright.  All of the shooters did OUTSTANDINGLY well, and we had shooters that knew very well what they were about.  We had ALL Instructors requalify, 3 Rifleman revealed, and an instructor-to-be that almost scored Rifleman 2 weekends in a row.  Marci, I'm coming to put a hat on your head...
But the shooter with the most improved score was revealed to be Tommy!  From the first AQT to the last, was a 62 point improvement!  Huzzah!  It is all about getting better every time, and Tommy did just that.  Barefoot Rifleman was once again revealed to be the Rifleman that he is, and was baptized on Easter with North Bridge water with a score of 210.  Rick had a few moments where counting was an issue, but still managed to requalify with a 218 score.  Ryan had to leave us early on Sunday for Easter duties, but proved he KNEW very well what he was about with a 224.  Woohoo!  Alex couldn't join us on Sunday for his family required him more, and family is always first.  But he is well on his way to that Rifleman score.
Now for the instructors, DaveJR once again proved that age has nothing to do with skill.  Being the youngest instructor, he showed us all what practice and persistence can do with ANOTHER perfect 250 score.  If you have never met this remarkable man, do yourself a favor and join us one day at a shoot.  He is a force to be reckoned with.  Nick proved to us all what a very capable instructor he was by doing most of the instruction on Sunday, earning his next promotion.  Steve and Mario tied with their score, almost inspiring a "tie breaker" shot, but they were both taken down by the shoot boss, by 1 point!  HUZZAH!!
All in all it was a SUPER FUN shoot, enjoyed by all who attended, and we are already putting another shoot on the books for next year.  Look out world, here come the Sattler's crew!
What doesn't kill you makes cool scars, and scars are tattoos with better stories.
