Another awesome event at Marion Road Gun Club! We had 9 Patriots join us bright and early. There were many familiar faces in the crowd, but some new ones, too. After introductions, we jumped right into things with Zinthous's First Strike of the Match. While still gathered, we covered history before retrieving our pistols and getting down to work.

After Pistol familiarization, we shot our first target, the Hits Count target. The high scores showed we had some shooters among us. 2 shooters cleared the target!  :---

After taking a survey, we took our ear protection off and our listening ears on as we got down to serious instruction. Eye dominance --> Grip --> Stance --> Dry Fire as Instructors worked with students on Grip and Stance while mimicking recoil. 6 Steps (1-3) --> NPOA --> 6 Steps (1-3 review and 4-6) --> Dry Fire with Trigger Recapture --> LIVE FIRE!  :--- (shot a couple tombstones) --> Talking Targets --> Live Fire --> Pistol Malfunction Drills with Live Fire and Reloading.

After working hard, we took an early lunch to hear the Second Strike of the Match before getting back to it. We shot some tombstones to wake back up and rolled into Target Transitions and Controlled Pairs. That was a nice segue into Stage 2 of the PQT, followed by Stage 1. Then we taught One-handed shooting and finished the PQT out. We took a break to hear the third strike before returning for more one-handed shooting and another PQT. We broke for the Onion and then another PQT. Then we heard the story of General William Heath before doing the Memorial Volley. Another Hits Count finished off the day, which showed some improvement.

After sticking it out with his revolver all morning, Brad C. switched to a semi-auto at lunch and shot a 217. Tim did a great job with a 224!

I don't think I got all the scores from the re-qualifiers, but George got a 221, Mike shot a 238, and a distinguished score of 245!

The day was capped off by a trip to Piedmont, and George joined us, as well as my parents who live locally. It is a testament to how busy we were that the only two pictures I have are the beginning and the end. This day was jam-packed, and everyone was a trooper. I can't wait to come back.

Remember to come back and bring a friend. See you on the line!

Thanks for another great shoot, Roswell.  The shooters were great too.  It was good to see shooters back, including one from South Carolina.  Congratulations on all the awesome scores - Pistoleerâ„¢ and otherwise.

Thanks for those great stands, George.  They are a lot easier to carry and use than the wooden ones.
