AS event Roanoke VA Mar 22-23, 2025

Once again we had a great time! It continues to amaze me how much fun we have and how much our instructors and students love what we teach. This weekend was no different. This was the first AS event at a new range for us at Roanoke Rifle and Revolver Club. Last year we held a LS event and were able to come back. The range is beautiful and very well equipped. This weekend we had 7 students, 2 instructors, and a new Blue Hat (welcome Sue). The weather was fantastic with the exception of some wind issues on Saturday.  When we arrived at the range, we found that the port-a-potty had been blown over!! No, no one was in it. A range representative was able to get someone to fix the problem so that "the necessary" was available by 10 am. Later in the day the wind blew the cardboard backers holding the targets off of the stands. That was a first for me. The wind also gave a few rifles wings when it blew mats around. As always, we adapted and overcame. The best news of the weekend is that we had 2 shooters clear Redcoats (VA patches awarded) and score Rifleman multiple times!!!!! For all the shooters, congrats on continued improvement over the weekend. Once again, an awesome group of shooters that I hope to see again soon on a range!
