South Huntsville, AL AAR - Feb 8-9, 2025 - Instructor Boot Camp

Ten instructors from the Tennessee Valley met in South Huntsville for an Instructor Boot Camp at the awesome Hobbs Island Shooting Range - HISR.  HISR has been a partner with Project Appleseed since their opening over 5 years ago.  Thank you, Don and Matt!

We spent the weekend focusing on how to be more effective history and rifle instructors.  On Saturday, we learned about the fundamentals of teaching and how to teach key blocks of instruction with simplicity and precision.  We also spent time discussing how to be effective and passionate story tellers as we share the message of our Nation's earliest days. 

On Sunday, we covered more marksmanship topics, coaching strategies and techniques, and each student spent time telling short history that they prepared.  Our range hosts helped us cook lunch for the group, too!   

My thanks all the instructors who came out and invested their time to become more effective.  You guys did great... and keep up the hard work.  Every day is an opportunity to grow and improve as instructors!
