We had a fantastic turnout of seven shooters, blending both new and veteran Appleseeders, at the Marion Road Gun Club this beautiful fall weekend. Gator0246 kicked things off on a high note with the First Strike. Our Hits Count targets indicated a smooth weekend ahead for us instructors, with just a bit of fine-tuning needed for most. George cleared the target, and FOUR hit the shingle—what a start!

We jumped right into instruction, and our first squares targets showed that everyone was soaking in the lessons. During lunch, I shared the Second Strike before we headed back out under the warm afternoon sun for more shooting. A huge thank you to the club for providing a canopy. Zinthous delivered an excellent presentation on the Third Strike, and by day's end, we had completed our first AQT, celebrating our first rifleman! Gator wrapped up with a heartfelt DOM story for our benediction. I'm hoping he'll share it again at our Rome shoot in a couple of weeks, so I don't want to say more than it's worth hearing and thanks.

Sunday morning arrived, but we lost one shooter to a headache—great shooting on Saturday, Ian; we hope you feel better soon. Zinthous and Roswell took a moment to share some history, and then we dove right back into shooting after a brief review. Our Hits Count Targets showed even better groups than Saturday, with four hitting the shingle again and two clearing their targets—fantastic progress! We had five shooters requalify as riflemen, including one instructor breaking in a new rifle.  I can't share the picture, but we had the privilege of baptizing a repeat rifleman with some North Bridge water—great shooting! He scored an impressive 210 with iron sights during a hasty AQT. This was the first hasty AQT in Macon in quite some time.  The more experienced Appleseeders really embraced the challenge. I have a feeling it won't be the last.

Over the weekend our newest Appleseeder, Harold, hit Morgan's Shingle three out of four times—WOOHOO! Perfect practice makes perfect, so keep it up everyone. We can't wait to see you all again soon!

I'll be asking a friend to post pictures for me while my battle with home internet continues.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan

I am sure the students were all inspired and took home valuable information (and maybe a few ants).

I can definitely see that George has the Appleseed bug.

-Eph6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world forces of this moral darkness and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
