With summer in full swing, we kicked off another great event at Skyline Hunting and Fishing Club! We greatly appreciate the support of SHFC in hosting our events.

We had a mix of rain and heat but that didn't deter 7 patriots from improving their marksmanship skills.

On day 1, we started with the Hits Count COF and got right into history with the First Strike of the Match that Lit the Revolution. Then we jumped right into the fundamentals and groups shrank quickly as everyone practiced their sling use, prone positioning, 6 steps of firing the shot and natural point of aim.

Everyone was shooting well, and we made sight adjustments before lunch. Over lunch, we heard the Second Strike of the Match and everyone was feeling motivated so we jumped right back into some afternoon shooting.

We learned about the sitting and kneeling positions, transitions, and the standing position. We had to take a brief break due to some rain and lightning so we gathered under cover and heard the Third Strike of the Match and some stories about some very dangerous old men.

Once the rain passed, everyone was feeling a bit refreshed after the break, and the temp had dropped so we dove right into the first AQT of the weekend! At the conclusion of that, a rifleman emerged! Gregg shot the score on the first AQT of the weekend, with a distinguished score of 241 with a bolt action! With several others knocking on the door, everyone was already looking forward to day 2.

Sunday was supposed to be quite a bit warmer, so everyone was eager to get shooting and beat the heat. After some morning review and sight adjustments, we dove back into AQT's. We shot our first AQT and another rifleman emerged! Jonathan became our newest rifleman with a very respectable score of 228. We did the Ball and Dummy drill right before lunch and everyone picked up a few things they could improve on for the next AQT. During lunch we heard about some more dangerous old men and Dr. Joseph Warren.

After lunch, we went right back to AQT's. Everyone thought it might be a good exercise to practice checking and adjusting NPOA so we carded the sights before our next AQT.
We shot another AQT and with the heat building and several folks knocking on the door, we decided to try the rapid fire type. Everyone had a great time doing that and after a couple of those, we decided to warp up with a Hits Count target before the worst heat of the afternoon set in.

Thanks to all of our participants for spending the weekend with us. It was a pleasure shooting with you all and we appreciate you all dealing with the heat and having really great, safe attitudes. The marksmanship was top notch and I think everyone at this event has a very solid understanding of the fundamentals of marksmanship.

Many thanks to our team of instructors: Amp, bravhrt and Top Gun for making this event happen. It was a great weekend!
