Six shooters showed up early on an unusually chilly June morning to learn history and rifle marksmanship.

Saturday:
After a brief introduction, Desert_Diver told the 1st strike.  We shot the Hits Count! target and began working on the fundamentals - Six Steps, NPOA, and Steady Hold Factors.  Several squares were shot to check groups and confirm sight adjustments.  Several equipment issues were resolved.  Mahamotorworks told the 2nd Strike and Long Rifle told the 3rd strike.  The day ended with some tired, but committed shooters.

Sunday:
Long Rifle and Mahamotorworks led a great review.  We closed out the last item of instruction (transitions) and moved onto the AQT.  After several AQTs, a few DOM stories, including the uncommon Robert Shirtliff / Deborah Sampson story (thanks Long Rifle!).  A number of steel shooting challenges were held - winners received valuable Appleseed-themed prizes.  Two shooters earned the coveted Rifleman patch and three shooters heard the call of Liberty.

All in all, it was a great weekend.

It was a great weekend with great instructors! Everyone really enjoyed it and I can't thank you all enough for your time and knowledge. I got so close to the patch, but just kept landing short of the score needed.

It was pretty nice weather for Albuquerque in the summer, too.
