With approval, we ran a special two day event that combined rifle and pistol courses of fire for the Armed Women of America groups in Minnesota.  We were able to host 7 AWA members and another 8 ladies from our Project Appleseed instructors spouses/families.  One shy of a sellout event.

Special thanks as always to our host range - Monticello Sportsmen Club.  Thank you for continuing to support Project Appleseed, without your support we would not be as effective in reaching our neighbors for the mission of saving our country.  Thank you.

We started our rifle clinic with fourteen ladies shooting the hits count and having six effective at 100 yards and 3 effective at 200 yards.  As the day progressed we would see the ladies make great strides in learning to be better riflewomen.  The ladies put up with the weather and continued to learn about stable, repeatable shooting positions.  We were able to shoot two AQTs in the late afternoon and we were able to award Ms Diane a rifleman patch for her 214.  Janet was oh so close with a 208 on the last one.  The other ladies were showing improvement and I'm sure will continue to improve by using the dry-fire and shooting by the numbers.

Saturday wrapped up with a hits count target that showed as a group they went to having one effective at 400 yds, three at 300 yards, four at 400 yards and three effective at 100 yds.  What a marked improvement by everyone.

Sunday was a beautiful day to do the pistol portion of the event.  We lost a couple of ladies due to work schedules, but picked up one new lady, so we started the day with 11 participants.  Hits count for pistol was shot and then we moved into the coaching and practicing aspects of pistol marksmanship.  After a full Saturday, Sunday was a bit slower paced.  Lunch was a time of fellowship and fun over pulled pork and shared potluck meal while Sam & Sam was told.

After lunch we were able to complete the course of instruction and get to two PQTs.  While the participants were striving hard for that coveted Pistoleer™™ patch, all would end up just short of the score needed.  But the ladies all indicated they had a great time and picked up tips and pointers that would help them at their next event.  After the PQTs we quickly shot the hits count and wrapped up the event.

Hits Count notes - Pistol - both Janet and Ann were able to clear the hits count.  Awesome job ladies.

I would personally like to thank Ann and the AWA chapter for working with us to arrange this event.  It was awesome being part of this event.

Thank you to flipper, winterwar39, Curmudgeon Mindset, TheDestroyer, and attist for being awesome volunteers and helping run this event.

Photos to come later.
