A huge thank you to Northwestern Gun Club, the oldest gun club in MN and oldest NRA gun club for hosting Project Appleseed's Pistol Clinic.  We had not so great weather, but awesome participants who persevered through bouts of rain all day while learning to handle their pistol's better.

We started the day out with the hits count that showed we had some work to do, well except Tim who decided to start his first Pistol Clinic by clearing the hits count.  We then got down to FUNdamentals of pistol marksmanship and started working on our grip / stance / six steps, NPOA, leading with our eyes, controlled pairs, etc. The group asked questions and were eager to try out the information provided.  When the first PQT was shot, we found out that Tim and his wife Jill were both Pistoleer™s - 236 for Tim and 219 for Jill.  We then did big dot/little dot and had some fun.  We shot our second PQT and Alissa repeated her early June performance of Pistoleer™ by bettering her previous best score by 1.  On the last PQT we had Sabin join the ranks of Pistoleer™ with with 214 using a borrowed gun as his James Bond gun had the trigger start malfunctioning.

To round out the group Steve was improving during the day, but the mental and physical fatigue started and the end of the day didn't look as good as the middle part.  Then Ms. Tan showed that good hits on target are better than fast misses.  While her scores improved each PQT, the speed aspect was her biggest challenge.

The final hits count showed marked improvements by the group.  Tim got close to clearing it a second time with a second pistol, but just missed out, while Sabin proved that he earned his Pistoleer™ patch by following it up with a cleared hits count.

Well done to all of you!  I look forward to seeing you on the line again.

Thanks to Toby & Tim for being awesome fellow volunteers.

Pictures to come later.
