Laramie, WY AAR June 07 2024

[Ridge Walker]

Friday June 07, 2024 was a great day for liberty with a one day pistol course! 

It started off with a beautiful morning at 7,220' elevation in Laramie Wyoming to kick off a 10 day event -Appleseed Pistol Clinic, IBC, RBC, and Appleseed (rifle). Shooters came from Minnesota, Indiana, Idaho, Ohio, New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska, Arkansas and Wyoming to be a part of this great event. The Laramie Rifle Range provided space to commune and camp and our host from the range was the ever present Regular Guy who made sure everything was in top working order.

We were fortunate to have two Senior Instructors; M1Bzrk & Captain, We also had four Red Hats shooting; Guns & Hoses, MN Ward, Jay's Honey Bunny and Indy. It was a fabulous line up 

After thoroughly covering all safety aspects the morning was kicked off with off with a Hits Count target. Captain took the Line Boss duties and provided awesome quality training as only he can do. Lunch was a time to talk Liberty and Heritage before getting back on the line.  Geek took over the Line Boss responsibilities with more awesome instruction on the art of the Pistoleer™™. 

Soon it was time to get into the PQT. 4 PQTs were shot in the afternoon and the results were crazy outstanding. New shooter Nephi shot a 210 & a 235, ToLiveDeliberately shot a 221, New shooter Top Hand took it to the wire shooting Pistoleer™™ and heavy duty instructor Guns & Hoses shot Pistoleer™™ to round out the quartet. There were many other good scores that just missed it by a hair. 

The crew was very enthusiastic and felt like they learned a lot in the short time. Top Hand took the Orange Hat and we are really looking forward to him joining the instructor cadre. We salute you Top Hand! Welcome aboard. 

We commenced to packing up and when we were close to finishing we were hit with a Rocky Mountain hail and rainstorm that would've made Noah run for cover! A little bit of rain won't drown the memories of this great event HUZZZAHHH!!!

A great day of instruction and shooting!  I didn't make Pistoleer™ yet but I will.  I learned new skills that will help.

What a great start to a great week and a half of Liberty!! This is my first trip to Laramie Rifle Range (6/24!!!) and I definitely plan on it not being my last! The facilities are great, especially for those of us camping,  and Ridge Walker ran a great event!! I always enjoy a chance to requal with my Beretta, and someday I'll find a pistol IBC in my driving range and calendar availability... can you believe that 235 from a new shooter (Nephi)?? WOW!! Much appreciation to the range for hosting us, local Appleseeder and range representative Regular Guy for the logistical support,  and Ridge Walker for SBing a great shoot!! Absolutely worth the drive from Arkansas, I'll be back for the Laramie "Big Event" next year!!
