Who wants to come out after a rainstorm on a muddy range with temperatures just over freezing – only the most hardcore Appleseeders! The Jonesboro Sports Shooting Center once again welcomed us into their incredible facility for some shooting, some stories from the American Revolution . . . and a little "muddin'".

TigerDriver and Lawman are Appleseed regulars and were hoping conditions would get "wintery" enough to get a Winterseed Patch. They were both shooting well and easily requaled even though the "winter" managed to stay just out of reach. In addition to shooting, TigerDriver was also breaking in his new "Blue Hat". Unfortunately, a family emergency prevented them from coming out on Sunday.

Our other attendee was "New Brian". Someone in Tennessee had put him onto Appleseed (BluegrassColonel??) and he came out to the Friday Pistol Clinic in Memphis and then followed up with his first rifle event in Jonesboro.  Even though he was feeling sick, he stuck it out the whole weekend. He scored Pistoleer™ on his first PQT on Friday and then wallowed in the cold and the mud until he earned his Rifleman patch with an impressive 230 on Sunday. With two events and a Rifleman patch in his hand, he decided he'd like to join in the effort and become an Appleseeder. His new orange hat is awaiting a proper forum name. We gave him some suggestions but he is determined to have one of his own choosing. :)

With a small crowd on the line, some of the instructors got in on the shooting with a distinguished requal for Jayhawker and a PR AQT for Guns&Hose. DanielSon also shot a requal handed in his first Progress Check.

Probably the biggest highlight of the weekend was Guns&Hoses earning his Red Hat. Congratulations!

I'll upload a few pictures here shortly . . .

Thanks,  had a great time! New Brian was a heck of a shot!

I just enjoyed laying in all that luxuriously soft Delta mud.

Anything that improves my comfort level tends to improve my shooting and visa versa, and I shot really well.

Mud can be a good thing.

I also enjoyed all of the comradery.

It was a great weekend.

Sure wished I could have seen you guys. Hoping to work out something for April in Hot Springs, and should be able to make at least one day of IBC. Glad Jayhawker got to Waller in delta mud.  I grew up playing I. That stuff and it's imbedded in my skin!
Great shooting from Brian. He beat me on my first Appleseed...I think I had a 223 (not caliber but score,)

It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan
