We had a fantastic event in Dubuque. Nine patriots showed up despite the 88% chance of rain. The weather held out and we had two beautiful days to learn about our heritage of April 19th along with the fundamentals of good rifle marksmanship. We started Saturday morning with only one person being proficient at 300 and 400 yards. By the end of the day we had three people clear the Hits Count target! On Sunday they all pushed through the heat in the afternoon, and despite showing signs of getting tired three shooters scored rifleman! Congratulations to Jay for scoring a 222 and following that up with a 238 to earn his rifleman patch on his very first Appleseed clinic. Congratulations to Jingle for earning his rifleman patch with a score of 217. This was his second event and he cheerfully accepted an Orange hat to begin his journey to becoming an Appleseed instructor! Congratulations to Andy for re-qualifying with a score of 217 as well. All our other shooters showed measurable improvement with most of them to the next higher rating on the AQT scoring brackets.

Many thanks to the Sweeney family for driving all the way from central Illinois to help fill out the firing line as well as the instructor cadre. It's great to see you making Appleseed a family event. Many thanks to Mark as well for making the trek across Iowa to help instruct. You always seem to make a special connection with a couple of shooters at each event to help them get over whatever hurdle they are facing.

Last but not least, I need to thank the Izaak Walton Dubuque Chapter for allowing us to use their range. Your contribution to the cause of Liberty is very much appreciated.

P.S. The storm clouds finally opened up about an hour after we picked up on Sunday and dumped a little over 2" of rain in about an hour.

Here are some pictures from our event. If you click on an image it should expand to a larger format. Click on it again and  it will shrink back down.
