Twenty-two citizens ranging in age from 10 to beyond experienced joined six Appleseed instructors at the Mill Creek Rifle Club outside De Soto, Kansas for some marksmanship and history.

We had folks from all walks of life including a gentleman from the East coast who was traveling through the area and participated on Saturday and a military history teacher (don't think that doesn't put pressure on your story telling).

We managed to get an AQT in late Saturday afternoon that resulted in a new Rifleman and a re-qual.

On Sunday, fifteen shooters returned for more fun and things got lively. A number of repeat Rifleman scores, several new qualifications and a Distinguished award rounded out the day. Oh, and a brand new orange hat joining the cause.

All participants displayed improvement in their marksmanship and a lot of interest in the happenings of April 19, 1775 and the beginnings of our country.

The NY interloper passing thru was me!
I was impressed with the original redcoat numbers, a lot of Great Shooters!
Instruction was Top Tier and everyone was safe, open and friendly, thank you everyone.
I was sad i could only do one day.

Next time i will make sure I can stay for both days, I will be Back!

It was great having you join us even for just the one day!  Always be glad to have you back.

You clearly know very much what you are about behind a rifle.

It was a pleasure meeting you. Never consider it interloping, you're family now.

I am proud to join the orange hat ranks as an Instructor in Training. This was my 2nd clinic and I had huge improvement over my first one. I very much enjoy and appreciate the importance of this program in teaching the true events leading up to the war. It is such an important part of our history as a nation, and I'm honored to have earned my place amongst such honorable and qualified marksmen and women.

Thank you Roger, the team and Mill Creek for once again hosting a fantastic event.

Thank you to all of the work and dedication that it takes to put on a appleseed. I learn something new every time I attend. I would like to take a minute and personally thank Randy. Two times he had to correct a situation on the line. After the shooting string or target was done he came over and talked with the shooter and explained what he seen and why action was taken. Coming from a 4h shooting sports back ground. I wish this had been taught to us in our training. It is something that I will use going forward. Roger could be alittle faster with the brass deflector. But I won't string him up for waiting (lol). I have a great time and thank you all again for what you do.

Woodse,

Thank you for the kind words.  The people that come to our events make all of the effort and contribution a great investment.  I'm always looking forward to the next one. Hope to see you then.
