A fine group of young patriots gathered at the NRA Range in Fairfax VA on Monday April 3rd, 2023.  These folks were from the Leadership Institute, https://www.leadershipinstitute.org/ and this is the second one day Appleseed Rifle Clinic we've done for them. Plans are afoot for another one in the summer!

After introductions and safety briefings we got into the teaching of rifle marksmanship.  The students showed steady progress throughout the day, absorbing the information and most importantly, putting the information to work.  We broke for a short lunch and the First Strike of the match about noon, and then went on with marksmanship instruction.  On the first of 2 AQTs we minted a new rifleman with a very respectable score of 227.  Huzzah!  After the final RedCoat target of the day we cleaned up the range and repaired to the classroom for Second and Third Strikes of the Match, Dangerous Old Men, and closing remarks.  Great questions from the students on the history.

Many thanks to the NRA Range for hosting this event.  A big thank you also to the instructors: Agent711 and Liberty Boy who came over from MD for the day, and OldDominionIron who drove up from Norfolk.  Great group of instructors and students and I look forward to the next one!
