The first Project Appleseed event of the year at Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Club in Palm Bay, Florida was a big success. The weather qualified as a Winterseed by Florida standards with both Saturday and Sunday starting in the 30's. The enthusiasm and dedication of the students to improving their marksmanship was paired with their absorption of the history and message. There were no cooks at this sold-out event. Everyone made steady improvement ending in four Riflemen, seven Sharpshooters, and two Marksmen. Our youngest shooter, Ethan, scored 228 from a rest so he decided to try prone without the rest and shot 155. Next event he will begin shooting positions. Dan requalified Rifleman with a 226. He was joined by Alan 223, Cody 236, and Scott N. with 210.  Dan cleared the Redcoat three times. Scott N. and Herb cleared the Redcoat once each. Cody stepped up and asked for an Orange Hat. HUZZAH! Looking forward to seeing these folks on the line again soon.

Dennis, thanks for leading us through the event. As always you and Sieggie did a fantastic job. Despite the down right COLD weather it was a great weekend. I was so impressed by all of the shooters. EVERYONE made huge improvements over the two days and it was great to see so many families participate. Looking forward to the next sold out event at Port Malabar Pistol & Rifle Club.

Congratulations Cody! I look forward to working future events with you!

What a great weekend! Loved the mix of history with practical lessons. It was just the right combination. It gave everyone a break from the various positions.

The stories were varied and interesting. All the volunteers did an absolutely fantastic job.

Very glad I attended. Looking forward to more events in the future.

This was my first event and I loved it!  Even though it was cold for FL no one complained and the teaching was great!  I can't wait for my next one in April!

Thanks Louie Louie! I'm thrilled to have made Rifleman, and looking forward to learning a lot more as an IIT.

I have to say this is my favorite part of the AAR. That genuinely puts a smile on my face. A young man who showed up and shot well and applied the instruction and shot a 228 from a rest, and then proactively challenged himself to get better by giving it a go without the rest. That is downright inspiring. Patch or no, that's Rifleman stuff right there, and we could all stand to take a page out of that book. You've got the spirit Ethan, keep it up and you'll get your due reward.

Sounds like an overall home-run of an event. Great job shooters - that's a great feeling! Hold on to it, and chase more of it!

So great to hear about more people stepping up and joining the movement. Welcome to the team, Cody!

Big thanks to the PMRPC crew for all your work investing in posterity.
