It was a gorgeous weekend at the Racine County Line Rifle Club in Racine, Wisconsin.  The RCLRC has been a long-time supporter of Appleseed and we sure appreciate that.  :)

If you've ever thought about becoming an Appleseed volunteer and wondered if it was something you could do... the answer is yes!  The way to turbocharge your skills as an instructor is to attend an Instructor Boot Camp!  (We offer them at no charge to new volunteers.

But one of my mentor's once told me, "Everyone needs an IBC, from orange hat to MI."  He's right.  I learn stuff at every one I attend and so will you!  Racine 10-22 was no different!  15 folks from Wisconsin and Illinois were able to come out for the weekend.

On Saturday, we kicked off by presenting dchelwig a shiny new orange hat.  He traveled all the way from North Carolina to attend our IBC!  Then, we jumpted in to learning the fundamentals of teaching & how to teach key blocks of instruction with simplicity and precision.  It was great to have Trisha and JoeZ to help mentor our small groups.  I was particularly impressed with our IITs buck9, Red Wing, Bob1974, and Warrior Poet!

We reassembled on Sunday morning and got back to work.  During round two of teaching many of the blocks, there was signficant improvement across the board.  :)

Lunch on Sunday is always the highlight of the weekend for me.  We set aside time to do history drills.  Each attendee had been assigned a topic in advance and a time limit of three.  It's a lot of fun and everyone gets to learn something new.  The IITs did an exceptionally good job here - Wisconsinites know their history and heritage!

I am so grateful for the small group leads.  They worked tirelessly and invested their time to make this a wonderful event.  My personal thanks to: Janir, Ironmike, Theokestral, and Leadlined for leading the groups.  Y'all were awesome!

A special shout-out Theokestral for helping arrange the IBC and taking care of logistics.  Thanks for making this event easy for me.  It's always a pleasure to work with you.

Everyone, thank you for attending Racine 10-22!  I hope the instructors and I served you well.

Well done all.  O0 I regret not being able to attend.  :(
