Well, I'm going to jump out there and call Colorado's first two day pistol clinic a success!

We had a sold-out event with eight shooters chasing a Pistoleer™ Patch. Seven people were returning Appleseeders with Morris driving through a state and a half (over 500 miles) to attend his first Pistol Event. This was Steve's first Appleseed Event and I hope we'll be seeing him again. Steve's son, Colby, is a Shoot Boss who helped with the event so they made a weekend of memories.

We started Saturday morning with a Redcoat Target with one person cleaning the target! A morning of instruction, drills and history got us to lunch with Strikes 2 & 3. The Instructors changed their Strikes subtracting and adding a few points providing some history that the Shooters hadn't heard before. We were able to shoot a PQT before the day ended with four shooters in the hunt. Some shade from the pop -ups made the day more enjoyable in the 95 degree heat. I know, I know... it's a dry heat. The sun has some strength at 6,400' so the shade was appreciated.

Sunday began with another Redcoat Target with some marked improvement from Saturday. Instruction on clearing malfunctions, drills reviewing Saturday's instruction and PQTs got us to lunch. By this time, we had two new Pistoleer™s. Chin shot a 222 and Jerry shot a 212 for his patch. This was a group that knew how to shoot and several were close to earning their patch. The Sam & Sam history generated some good discussion among the shooters.

After lunch, the day went downhill pretty quickly. We had to shut down around 1:00 due to wind and lightening. With a couple more PQTs, I'm sure we would have some more shooters earning their Pistoleer™ Patch.

This was a fun weekend with a solid group of Instructors and true friends of Appleseed. Thanks to all of you!
