Has anybody used one in a KD match?

Does the short 1.5" eye relief create any issues?

What ammo did you use and how did it work?

Do the reticle range marks work good for a 100 yard zero out to 400?

I'm thinking about using either IMI 77 grain Razorcore SMK's or a m193 55 grain load.

That optic should work fine. I think Maximum Ordinate has used an ACOG to qualify on KD using holdovers. The one thing to keep in mind is that the ACOG is calibrated in meters and we shoot KD in yards so adjust accordingly.

You can't miss fast enough to qualify.

I used a acog for many many years for rifle qual. It'll work fine for known distance.

For the eye relief issue I recommend placing it so that if you put the tip of your nose on the charging handle you have no shadow. You may need to adjust length of pull depending on how your built but tip of the nose to charging handle is the easiest way to get a repeatable location.

Ammo wise just shoot the same brand/load and zero to it accordingly

The chevron and the ballistic drop work just fine for range estimation and quickly getting on target. There's plenty of youtube videos that show how it works

The only thing I'll add is that if you find the chevron to bright  is that you take a peice of electric tape and place it over the red vial on the top of the optic. 3/4s covering was perfect for bright sunlight for me

I have 3 LPVO's that I like. They do well for what I'm asking them to do.

However, They are heavier than the ACOG will be and it is combat durable. Not so sure I would go to War
with a LPVO. I would be afraid it would be out of action before long due to rough handling.

How's the Glass on the ACOG? I hear it's pretty good.

I used mine last year. The short eye relief may interfere with eye protection on a moderate to hard kicking rifle. Otherwise, I found it to be POA/POI with M193 at each distance for a 20" barrel.
