You know it's going to be a good day when you arrive at the range and see a sight like this...


It makes a person reflect on how fortunate we are to be in America and spending the weekend with Patriot's committed to forging a hopeful future for our Nation.

Eighteen instructors from the NorthEast Region met in Connecticut his past weekend for an Instructor Boot Camp at the picturesque Northwest Connecticut Sportsman's Association.  The NWCSA has been a partner with Project Appleseed for more than a decade.  Thank you, NWCSA!! 

With their Regional Coordinator, VietVet from New York, we spent the weekend focusing on how to be more effective history and rifle instructors.  On Saturday, we learned about the fundamentals of teaching and how to teach key blocks of instruction with simplicity and precision.  We also spent time discussing how to be effective and passionate story tellers as we share the message of our Nation's earliest days.  You know how awesome NWCSA is?  They had club members help cook hot lunches for us both days!

On Sunday, we covered more marksmanship topics, coaching strategies and techniques, and each student spent time telling short history that they prepared.  I was impressed - across the board - by the quality of the history presented.  The NorthEast Region is doing it right!   

My thanks all the volunteers who came out and invested their time to become better instructors.  You guys did great... and keep up the hard work.  Every day is an opportunity to grow and improve as instructors!

This IBC exceeded all my expectations.  It was great to see some folks after a long winter and great to meet other face to face for the first time.  We need to make a habit of having regional IBCs

I had hoped to be able to go and help out up there, ya'll, I really did. But I couldn't get the time off work.

You folks had some of my favorite things going there. Great company, great instruction, hot meals, and fog. I love fog.

 The IBC went great, all took in the presentations and instruction exceedingly well. A good thing was that the attendees had a wide range in their backgrounds from A/C to shoot bosses and adapted, improvised and overcame. Everyone came away with a higher level of confidence in their teaching abilities and styles.

It was good to have the number of folks who traveled as far as many did, both instructors and IT crew. Great turnout!

Glad we were able to help in having it at NWCSA, they have supported Appleseed for the past 12 years running.  We'll be having a few events at NW this season and for those who'd like to use their abilities at a CT shoot all I have to say is sign up and come on over!

   Many thanks to ALL involved in this IBC. 
Thanks to Maximum Ordinate for traveling from Alabama to SB our event. Thank you NWCSA for allowing us the use of the Clubhouse for the weekend, and to all who attended THANK YOU for proving the Northeast is not only still alive and well but is on track to becoming stronger than ever.
   Those who attended proved there's a large "Bucket" full of talent up here that we'll put to use and bring the NE back up to where it once was and surpass all expectations.
   For me this was a huge "Eye opener" as I've been off the Appleseed Trail for some time due to a knee injury. I was given the opportunity to knock some of the rust off and this IBC did just that. I knocked off some but another IBC will go a long way in knocking off the rest. We're already putting into action another IBC for our Region.
   I was very impressed with the "Professional" presentations of all who took part in the areas of Instruction. AWESOME job Brother/Sister Appleseeders. I'm certain those who wore Orange Hats to this one will be in RED HATS by the next one and an entire new group of ORANGE HATS will fill those chairs.

  TEAM NORTHEAST has been given a mission and we will complete that mission as a Team.
No "Boarder Raiders" in our Region. It's ONE TEAM working together to preserve LIBERTY.

Amazing.Very Informative. And Fun.

The IBC at Colebrook -- 322 -- made me want to be better at whatever role I play in Appleseed.

The history narratives on Sunday provided information of colonial life and the fortitude of those folks. Some tales were familiar, some humbling, all were informative.

Way to go!!  I heard great feedback from our volunteers who made the trip down from upstate NY.   I'm glad they had the opportunity to benefit from a boot camp - can't wait to work with you guys when I return to NY this summer.
