St. Augustine, FL - September 25-26, 2021

We returned to St. Augustine! After a three year hiatus Appleseed came back with a well attended event in the oldest city in the country. 17 shooters turned out to participate on a beautiful weather weekend at the Saltwaters Shooting Club (thank you Chris Nestor). Seven of the shooters were youths ranging from 11 to 16 years of age. It's always such a pleasure to see young people attend our events.

Due to the constraints of the setup, we ran the event in "relay" fashion using two groups of shooters. This worked out well and gave the instructors the opportunity to work closely and spend more time with each shooter. This attention paid off with everyone showing improvement over the weekend. Adam attained a Rifleman's score twice with a 226 on Saturday and a 224 on Sunday. Pete stepped up and got his Rifleman's patch on Sunday with a nice score of 223.

Eight of the attendees listed themselves as "Beginners" and five of them were using loaner rifles! Despite their the lack of experience each of them paid close attention to our instructions and showed great progress over the two days. A few attained Marksman status, too! Not bad for their first time out.

The instructors, FLawyer (Glenn), 9mm4545 (Bruce), Rambo Granny (Janet), TomM1thumb (Tom), HenryBowman47 (Tom [Orange Hat]) and Cheyenne all did a terrific job. Their dedication and performance was impressive as always.

thank you Pete for shoot bossing and everyone else for helping. looking forward to advancing through the ranks and becoming a redhat along with the rest of yall. i had fun line bossing and noticing the improvement of some of the shooters. hopefully saltwaters will let us come back, it was nice having the shoot in my backyard. i will make every shoot i can that yall have in st augustine.
