It began as a cool day, and half the shooters turned up EARLY.  I mean before all of the instructors were there early.  But no worries, once the range was prepared and the shooters checked in, we got started.  We began with our opening speech, safety related modules, pistol terminology, pistol familiarization, and then shot the Hits Count target.  Congrats to Michelle for almost, but not quite clearing the target!

We then heard the first strike before getting down to business learning the fundamentals of pistol shooting.  We learned grip, stance, the Six Steps of Firing the Shot, and Natural Point of Aim.  After lots of dry fire and one-on-one help from the instructors, we discussed talking targets before moving on to malfunction drills and learning how to reload our pistols.  We followed those with Target Transitions, Controlled Pairs, Double Taps, and the Second Strike during a well earned lunch.

After lunch we learned about Center Line Index and the Low Ready position before moving on to Rapid Fire and One-Handed Shooting.  We wrapped up the day with PQTs, the Third Strike, and our benediction.

Thanks again to all who came out.  I personally saw a lot of improvement over the course of the day, and I look forward to seeing several of you earn your Pistoleer™ patch at a future event.
