Great weekend but very hot.
We had some returning shooters and some brand new. Three sets of fathers and kids showed up for this infernoseed. Always nice to see the next generation on the line.
There was marked improvement along the entire line throughout the weekend. I was glad to see everyone able to get good hits on steel at 300 and 400 yards by the end of the weekend.
We welcome two new riflemen this weekend. Tori scored a 225 and was followed by her dad Steve with a score of 211 on the next AQT.
Tori also took an orange hat home with her. We will watch her career with great interest.
See you in the fall!

Yes  it was hot!  However that did not impeed the learning and we had two new riflemen as a result.

Our special event, following Sunday's session brought home the lessons learned.  Thanks to Wangdoodle, and Ed, who supplied the rifles and ammo, we were able to demonstrate skills learned shooting steel targets at 300 and 400 meters.

Two young ladies handled the scoped AR 15 as if they had been shooting them before.  First time for both!  Not satisfied with one session they opted to shoot again and then again.  There were hits and near misses.  Had the steel buffalo had fur, it would have been parted.

The male shooters proved themselves also.

Ed provided a Mini 14 with iron sights.  He had stated he had never been able to hit steel at 200 yards with it.  He was hitting steel at 300 meters  with iron sights.  He attributed his success to the Appleseed instuction he received Sat and Sun.  Our other shooters were having similar success with the Mini.

Shooters expressed interest in KD events and a desire to attend one.

Sounds like this was a great event! It's a tough crowd that comes out to shoot in the desert at the end of May!

So glad to see Steve and Tori make the score - and Tori took a hat - Huzzah!!!

Thanks to everyone who participated and made for a great weekend. Positive, coachable attitudes and consistent improvement over the weekend. As a new IIT, it was a great learning experience for me as well.

I hope to see everyone this fall!

This was a great weekend! I'm so proud to join the many amazing instructors at Project Appleseed. These kinds of things are the memories and experiences that will stick with me forever! So grateful to the skilled shoot boss, Whangdoodle, as well as the other fantastic instructors! I will see you in October!  Btw, it sure would be nice to see Captain at the October shoot (Hint Hint😉)
