We had a great weekend.
The 25-yard range at the Ramseur home range hasn't looked better and the weather was as close to perfect as possible.
We had 30 people signed up and 28 showed up.  They all came ready to learn and were disciplined.  After all the basic instruction they got in 3 AQTs on Saturday and 6 on Sunday.
There was a father who brought his three sons, a father who brought his 7-year-old son (who made it through the instruction, the shooting, and the KD instruction!), and fathers with adult sons, making a day of it.  A father and daughter team both shot above 210 for all the AQTs, the daughter had the highest score for the weekend, a distinguished 243.
There were 8 instructors and 5 promotions!  Liz, Torin, and Tar Heel went from IIT0 to IIT1.  They did a wonderful job.  Meditative Marksman went from IIT2 to IIT3.  He did all the review instruction on Sunday.  The last promotion was Vaportrace to SBit.  I've had the pleasure to be the SB for other promotions for him.  He is a joy to work with.  His presence as an SBit make doing the other promotions possible.  Many thanks to him.
The Memorial Volley at 4 pm on Sunday was made more meaningful since we had a 14 year-old on the line shooting.  Garands were brought to the line for the Volley.  Between their big voice and the reading of the Worthies names, we all felt the impact of our responsibility to understand the Worthies sacrifices for our present democracy and make sacrifices of our own for the next generations.

Hard to say enough good things about the shooters, regardless of age, a really incredible group!

No better place to be that weekend!
