Another great event. Such a great instructor cadre and great attendees, topped off by mostly great weather. Several repeat Appleseed era and several new ones. All came with an open mind and were sponges for the information. It was great having 3 instructors, 3 orange hats and 2 blue hats. Gunn worked hard getting folks registered and keeping them in targets when needed. Bright1 and Jayhawker helped keep things rolling and knocked the 3 Strikes out of the park. MotoMan, MinTin, Stones and Whippersnapper helped greatly in the instruction. Although she was there as a shooter, SwiftonGal not only showed everyone how it is done but coached those around her. She also shot a Distinguished score and earned a patch. Mr Gunn and Young Gunn were a joy to be around and both greatly improved throughout the day Saturday. Sadly they were unable to return Sunday. Candi was our only centerfire shooter over the weekend and never gave up. Both Ken and Chad were unable to make it Saturday, but came Sunday and both did quite well. Another event might make them break over into the realm of Riflemen. It was great having our friends from Texas join us for another event and even brought a few more friends. It was great sharing this fun time with them again. John shot much better than he has before and when he gets his new glasses, will be a force to be reckoned with. It was great to see Chris able to make it through several AQTs and he did rather well.  Michael and Daniel both did well and seemed to have fun and learn a lot. Andy, John's son, finally settled down a bit and shot a great rifleman score. Baldy earned a patch and Lamar fell just short but seemed to enjoy and wasn't far off from a 210. Shawn persisted all weekend and fell just short but never gives up. Carl worked hard all weekend and was great to be around.
We ran in relays to give us a little more space on the line. Because of our large number of instructors, everyone had an opportunity to shoot. All instructors proves that they can shoot and earned patches. We added 2 new orange hats to our ranks (whippersnapper and Daniel Son) and they both showed that shooting a Rifleman's score is repeatable. Daniel highlighted that by shooting a 240. Ted fell 3 points short of a 240 and was only able to come Sunday. Thanks to all that attended and all that helped.

The American Constitution is remarkable for its simplicity; but can only suffice a people habitually correct in their actions, and would be utterly inadequate to the wants of a different nation.  Change the domestic habits of the Americans, their religious devotion, and their high respect for morality, and it will not be necessary to change a single letter in the Constitution in order to vary the whole form of their government. - Francis Grund 1837

It seems lately that after each event, the instructors say "this one was the best yet".  The attendees, both new and repeats have been fantastic!  Great to see old friends and make new ones. Love having new blood in the ranks with these new Orange Hats, too! Need to add a big shout out to Motoman for handling the grilling chores both days. Great burgers and dogs! And a big thanks to MVSA for the use of their range! They are a long time supporter of Appleseed and are much appreciated. Looking forward to the next event!

Wow - looks like a great Patriot's Day event down in Hot Springs! I wish I could've joined in and witnessed some of that fine shooting you all encountered.
