The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed -- where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.

-- Justice Alex Kozinski, US 9th Circuit Court, 2003

Only dropped two points, and he's upset at himself for dropping them.  Definitely an American rifleman.  :F   :snipersmi

I think I feel personally attacked about the comments around iron sights.  I suppose it doesn't matter, though - this man sounds like he can outshoot most of us, including myself.   O0

"It is an uphill struggle, but I wish that we could distinguish more carefully between freedom and liberty. These conditions are not the same, though they are certainly related. Freedom is the absence of restraint - a physical circumstance. Liberty, on the other hand, is a political situation denoting the lawful capability of the citizen to defend himself and his near and dear without interference from the state. Note that the Declaration of Independence forcibly and particularly establishes the blessings of liberty upon ourselves and our posterity. I like to carry a pocket copy of the Declaration, plus the Constitution, in my travels. It is a good thing to have in hand when discussions arise."

Photo Op. Ignore it.
This has better "in-action" pics of other recruits.

"Whoever looks upon them as an irregular mob, will find himself very much mistaken...

> Ferrell said he had heard plenty of recruits bragging about how good of a shot they were before his platoon's time on the range, but he opted to remain quiet.

Classy :)

>  Instead of hitting black with each shot he spent his time getting to know the rifle, focusing on getting tight groupings before adjusting his rifle combat optic.

Hey that sounds familiar...

Urrrah!

That's really something when you consider the recruit depots get the worst of the Marine Corps' leftovers when it comes to gear, and that cleaning rifles to death is the Marine Corps' idea of daycare.

Think I might have an orange hat hanging around Private Ferrell's name on it for when the time is right.
