20 patriots came out to the beautiful Cavalier Rifle & Pistol Club in Montpelier, VA for a weekend of marksmanship training, history, and liberty. CRPC has been a long-time supporter of Project Appleseed and we thank them for their continued support of education and liberty.

This was a great group, consisting of 5 first-time Appleseed attendees, 8 youth, and several family groups. They all took instruction well, as proven by their improving scores on the Hits Count targets and the minting of some new Rifleman, including two Distinguished Rifleman (in the same family, one at their first event, the other at their second)! HUZZAH! The other two family members requalified as well.

Several students cleared their Hits Count targets, earning them a special Virginia patch. One youth shooter, our "Designated Marksman" for the weekend, dearly wanted a Virginia patch, and was shooting good groups off his bipod. A challenge was issued to him-get all 13 shots on target, AND hit at least 3 of the 4 black circles in the silhouettes. The Sunday morning attempt was unsuccessful, but Sunday afternoon resulted in the awarding of the special patch, with cheers from all attending as it was presented. Well done, young man.

One student stepped up for the cause, accepting an Orange hat and starting his journey down the Appleseed trail. It was a pleasure to see Matt presented his hat by the Regional Coordinator and to present him with a copy of "Paul Revere's Ride" and an RWVA volunteer oval patch. HUZZAH!

I look forward to seeing all of these students back on the firing line at a future event.

"(Were) they nourished by your indulgence? They grew by your neglect of them. As soon as you began to care about them, that care was exercised in sending persons to rule over them, in one department and another…Sent to spy out their liberty, to misrepresent their actions and to prey upon them; men whose behaviour on many occasions has caused the blood of these sons of liberty to recoil within them."
