We had 20 shooters with lots of familiar faces. 2 new rifleman patches one a distinguished rifleman score. We had 5 rifleman re-qualify. There were also 4 cleared red coats one by a young lady who was shooting close to rifleman scores. Weather was windy 10-20 gusting and we had to do a few target repairs and shift line to accommodate.
Overall it was a great weekend engaged shooters, we were well staffed and the shootboss was on his "home" range 4.5 miles from home. We picked up a new orange hat too!
I have been involved in over 50 shoots and I am not sure I can come up with one that went smoother.
Thanks to the shooters and my crew for a great shoot!

Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. John Wayne

The history lessons were awesome this weekend, thanks to Mike, Steve and Emily!    With Mike's excellent benediction at the conclusion of our weekend, students and instructors alike left inspired to preserve and promote our amazing American heritage and it's present day benefits.  May we be worthy of those benefits.

Thanks to Madison County Sportsman's Club for hosting us.  They have an excellent facility.  Always fun to have to open and close gates in order to get to the range, whilst avoiding letting cow's stray from the pasture.  At one point, cow's started heading for an open gate, obviously curious about the sounds of liberty ringing from the adjoining field.  They looked quite disappointed when turned back by determined instructors and students impersonating ranchers.  Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome works in any situation.

Here are some pics of the event.  A very fun group to work with.  We'll see you all on the trail!

Special mention for some folks who know very well what they are about!  Congrats to two new Rifleman, Jeff and Shane (who qualified with a Distinguished score!)  Kudos to our five re-qualifiers:  Chris (distinguished score again! and father of Shane, so no surprise there. Oh, and daughter Ashlyn cleared a redcoat.  Good grief!) Caleb, Glen, Mark and Seth!  Many more had very good scores.  When you are knocking on the rifleman door, keep practicing (and practicing) the fundamentals and you will get there!

Last, but not at all least, kudos to Bob for stepping up and taking an orange hat.  We are very excited to have you aboard, sir!

Huzzah!
