Has anybody tried Tech Sights on a Ruger 10/22 take down model?  I was wondering how well it does (or doesn't) at keeping zero after dissembling and reassembling.

Thanks!

I have, The sights held zero fine as neither moves, The Td model it self is your pivot point , so if it has a good lookup it will return really close to zero. The issue is usually sling pressure , if you are not super consistent with how tight you sling u it will move around on you.

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

I once gave a TD a thorough, wring-out test for a blog article. If you properly tighten the barrel adjusting nut, and let the bolt slam a couple of times to bed the barrel each time you reassemble, the Takedown holds zero beautifully.

But that barrel/receiver joint just isn't designed to take the tension of a properly fit sling. I found the barrel pulled downward in prone by as much as 10 MOA. You can adjust your sights for that, but then must be careful to use the same sling tension for every shot and every stage. It's challenging but possible to be that consistent. I know a few shooters who have qualified as Riflemen using Takedowns. But the rifle doesn't make it any easier.

TD model is Rifleman score-capable.  With some persistence.  :)
