I don't remember who first announced on the forum that Walmart was having a sale on .22 shells on Oct 4,  but I checked with our local store and sure enough, they were having it here also!  They had a limit of three boxes of 100's, CCI.  Since I had to be in town later that morning, I went a little early to get in line as they were to start doling it out at 8, and was very surprised at the small line.  Just wanted to thank whoever posted that message as the public here had no knowledge of the sale-it was not advertised.  In the last week I've been able to buy a few .22 shells at a farm store for .06 per round, and Cabelas had a bunch, although pricey.

Anyhow, they all commented that more was coming in.  Good news!

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them,  and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I've read that Walmart is stocking up on .22lr and planning on having a big sale on Black Friday. Guess I'll be standing in line again!  :P

I got skunked here in Ak on the fourth (drug my wife outa bed to buy her limit for the cause n everything), and I generally hate crowds so don't be offended if I choose to not believe the Black Friday .22 story.

your store didn't have any? or you just missed out?

Didn't have any. Went to two of the four stores in my local area before I decided I shouldn't run the risk of annoying my wife any further. We then proceeded to a dock diving and dog diving (never seen one do such before) demo she was excited about.

Instead of standing in line or burning gas, just keep a close eye on wikiarms.  Check in on it many times per day--as many as you can reasonably manage--and it's a pretty sure bet that within a few days you'll score a good deal on some ammo.  I just popped in right now (I'm not currently in 22lr shopping mode, having burned through my budget for the year long since), and found something maybe worth buying.

With a limit of 2 per day, you can get 600 rounds for $52+shipping, which is not a good deal, but if you're eager to get your hands on some good ammo, it's not completely terrible.  Back before all the craziness, that amount of minimags would have sold for probably $42 ($7/box), so it's not marked up all that much, really.
