We had a great weekend at Kingston, MI this past weekend.  In spite of the hail, sleet, rain, and high winds we had 9 hearty souls turn out and celebrate our heritage as Americans.  The Marlette Sportsman's Club is a great range and their hospitality helped make the event a huge success.  Many thanks to Rick the club liaison for all he did to make things easier and being there to orient us.

Congratulations to Rick on scoring a rifleman's score of 213 and for agreeing to take an orange hat as well.  Welcome aboard, sir!  Of the 9 shooters we had, 5 were under the age of 18.  In spite of the inclement weather they all toughed it out and held steady.  Well done!  Everyone's scores improved over the weekend and it was a joy to see.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the instructors who gave of their time (&changed personal schedules) and braved the elements and came out for this event.  Many thanks to all of you.

Now, if any one has pics: post 'em up!

Could only do it one day as I had committed to another Applseed event on Saturday was I surprise and happy to see some old friends from past events. Those kids have really grown in the last year or two since I've seen them. It was of course fun to share the line again with their parents and friends. Kudos to our friends from Higgens Lake who drove a long way to work on their marksmanship.  Finally, thanks to Rick who provide lunch on Sunday. (and of course Yarn Junky who always takes care of us)
