Saturday dawned cool and bright.  Weather looked to be great at least in the morning.  Thanks to a couple of walk-ons, we had to quickly throw up another section of target line so folks had enough space.  Soon 18 shooters were hearing our welcome, the safety briefing and instructions on how to bring rifles to the line.  The Red Coat was introduced and the shooters showed great promise with 12 of 18 competent at 100yds and 6 at 200.

Instructions commenced with steady hold prone, six steps, and NPOA.  Drills and instruction continued at a good pace and before we knew it, it was lunch time.  Thanks to Colt and Tusco RR for providing a great lunch for the shooters on the new  pavilion next to the main club house.  Back on the line for sight adjustments, seated and offhand steady hold and the introduction of the AQT.  A practice AQT was shot followed by our first live AQT.  The second strike was presented during the afternoon break and the third at the end of the day.  The shooting day ended with our Saturday Red Coat.  Improvement was shown up and down the line with 5 people extending their range to 300 yds.  Young Luke came within one shot of clearing the Red Coat. Huzzah.

Sunday dawned with showers that kept up most of the morning.  Thanks to the covered line and pavilion we were able to stay relatively dry.  With the Safety and points of instruction review behind us, we moved on to the Sun morning Red Coat.  The group didn't show much regression from Saturday which was good.  But the rain and humdity took its toll on both shooters and equipment. Multiple AQTs were shot and we made one new Rifleman.  One of our youth shooters, Michael (16 ys old) shot a solid 220 and gained his patch.   O0

KD was taught at lunch and the final Red Coat was shot and before we knew it, our weekend together was over.  Thanks to Linda, Tactical Tumbler, Artist Chick, Wheeler, Chippendale, Marc, and especially Stand for working this shoot with me.  It is always such a please to work with pro's like you guys.  To the shooters, thank you for coming, we are back at Tusco in October so we hope to see many of you again then.

LOST AND FOUND

When we cleaned up the range on Sunday, there was a blue folding chair with the net on the bottom of the cup holder missing and a youth jacket on it. The jacket is similar to a CarHart work jacket.  If these sound familiar, please send me a PM or an email at srb@teamsol.com and we will coordinate return.

A BIG thank you to all the instructors for another fantastic Appleseed event.

I had a lot of fun and learned.

This was my first time at Tusco and it is certainly a great facility. And they treated us well.
