Another great shoot at my favorite location - it just like a home away from home with the club and instructors there treating us just like family.

It was me, Reddot, wcmartin, and phreatdawg instructing.

The weather was nice temperature wise and the shooters even better. We had 8 pre-regs and 2 walkons bringing us up to 10 shooters for the event.

The shooters improved big time and even better were safe.

It was nice seeing Cliff and his son Cobi again. Cliff almost got the patch shooting a 207. Cobi just keeps getting better and better. He'll get there soon I predict. Another regular at the Midland shoots, Paul, was there with his new and very nice wife Francis. Francis was a new shooter and did fantastic for somebody that had never shot before - I joked with Paul that she could help him with his rifle skills.

It was an honor to meet Mr. Woods, and older gentleman, who persisted through both days. He told me he was pretty sore. I told him that's OK, an Appleseed is tough even on younger folk.

Clay came out with his grandson who was an exceptionally nice young man - I just wish I could remember his name - must be old timers disease. Clay also shot rifleman even though he is more of a handgun type of guy. I could tell from day one that he would though since he already knew the basics of how firearms work and started off shooting like a pro.

We had another rifleman too - Brendan. He'd been out before and this time nailed it with some fine shooting.

Matthew was out with his AR which at first was creating shotgun groups. But was the weekend wore on he really tightened up on the groups and is on the road to becoming a rifleman.

Pete was another one of the shooters it was a pleasure to work with as well as meet.

What a great group - there's hope for this country yet.

Thanks all for coming out - it was an enjoyable weekend for me.

Thanks to Red Dot and Scuzzy and Bill for a great shoot! And thanks to the guys from Central Texas for bringing the rain! Brought two new rifles this time, one was a Ruger LTR that I assembled for Cobi. I'll post pictures later and give the particulars on the build in case anyone else is interested. I got close with my new 10/22,(one NPOA away!) but on day two I started having magazine issues. I'm pretty sure the spring on my original magazine wore out as I started having FTFs.
Well, that's my excuse anyway! :slap:
Cobi keeps improving.
Gotta admit the wind on day one was atrocious, but hey, every range has its' environmental challenges, and on the MSA range, (and West Texas overall) is the wind.
Produced two rifleman and I was tickled that Brendan shot so outstandingly.
He clearly had the best rifle on the range.
He just ran away and hid from everybody. Congratulations bro!
Congratulations to Clay as well for earning his patch.

"Unhappy it is, though, to reflect that a brother's sword has been sheathed in a brother's breast and that the once-happy and peaceful plains of America are either to be drenched with blood or inhabited by a race of slaves.  Sad alternative!  But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?" - George Washington - from a letter to a close friend after the events of April 19, 1775

"There is no nation on earth powerful enough to accomplish our (the United States) overthrow.  Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter.  From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger.  I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing." - Daniel Webster, June 1, 1837
